On the 16th August, we went to the eldest brother house for ancestral rites. The food prepared for ancestral rites tables are not all the same throughout the whole country, it depends on which province the people from. My father in law was from Kyeonggi Province, but the eldest sister in law is from Busan. Their family are staying in Busan, therefore, she follows the Busan's custom rather than Kyeonggi Province, such as the shark meat..............................................................................................................
We started the ceremony at 11.30pm at night...................
In Korea, ancestor worship ceremonies are referred to by the generic term jerye (hangul: 제례; hanja: 祭禮). Notable examples of jerye include Munmyo jerye and Jongmyo jerye, which are performed periodically each year for venerated Confucian scholars and kings of ancient times, respectively.。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。
